Summer outfit and new store adventure

After working all weekend long, I finally get to have time and dress up.
Here's my makeup and outfit for the day :)
Nobody is here to take pictures for me so here it is.
top: Stitch Fix 41 hawthrowne
bottom: Forever 21 shorts
Necklace: Charming Charlies
Purse: Francesca's
shoes: Francesca's.

So my coworker was talking about this store called "35 off". its a store where I think they got their products from big wholesale places or even department stores such as Costco, BJ's, and such and they sell the items that have box damages or without batteries or even just have things taken out of the box but it is till usabe (i.e. Brita water filters. there were 5 in a box but 2 were missing so they discounted the box).

SO I decided to check it out since its 2 minutes away from where I live.
5 light crackle glass chandelier on sale for $64.95. I think you can get this from Costco but of course, it'll be like $150 or something I am not sure what the original price would be. But it looks nice and they only have 2 in the store. Wish I have a house so I can get it lol

They sell electronics too. 50 inch Vizio HD tv for almost half off. Not sure what the problem is but you can always ask the people that work there. Maybe side box damage?

I keep taking pictures of home stuff but this is HGTV 8 piece solar pathway lights. this is going for $19.95. Pretty good price I guess lol.

they sell a lot of stuff in the store. CLothes, some furnitures, carpets, rugs, food with boxes damages, and toys etc. Pretty messy but overall if you want good deals i think you just have to keep checking back because they will restock and receive new items.
Pretty cool!

Memorial Weekend!

I just want to dedicate a blog post just for those who had/have/are served/serving us! It is an important day for all of us to remember to be grateful that we have someone else to fight for our country and freedom.  There are many soldiers out there that would want to be home and spend time with their families and there are many out there that are injured or even passed away in the battle. Injuries can be mental and physical. Physical injuries can heal and your body may recover but mental injuries are just the ones that eat you up (PTSD).

Now I don't know what it is like to fight in a war or be sent off to another country to fight, but I know they are brave enough to do that and I am proud of each and everyone of them.

Let's just take a moment today and pray for those who have lost their loved ones and pray for those who are still out there fighting and missing their homes. Pray for their safe return home and pray that God is watching over them. Whatever their paths may be, they will know that He is with them.

I worked all weekend so I didn't have anytime to call Papa Bill (Blake's Dad) and to tell him that I appreciate what he did (He is retired). But thank you all so much!!

Traditional Fried rice!

i know. sounds typical. An Asian blogger writing about how to make fried rice. But who doesn't love a good fried rice? And why pay for someone else to do it when you can simply make it at home for a cheaper price and have lots of leftovers lol.
Anyways, Blake LOVES fried rice and I am glad that I picked up some cooking skills when I was little from my mother. I love traditional food and I rarely would go to a Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant that's Americanized, if you know what I mean. There are only a few restaurants that I would go and say its authentic.
Anywho. lets get started!
=======================================
Ingredients:
Onion X 1
Garlic cloves X 3
Olive Oil X 1 tbsp
Asian rice (no jasmine rice or any American rice) X however much you want. In my case I used 2 1/2 cups uncooked which = 4 cups or more cooked
chicken breast X 1 lb
Mixed veggies
bean sprouts (we love bean sprouts)
green onion
eggs X 3
Soy sauce X 3 tbsp
Sesame oil X 1 tbsp

Steps:
Before you start cooking, make sure your rice is cooked and ready to go.

cut onion and garlic while heating oil in a big pan.
cook onion and garlic when ready.

Then while the onion and garlic are cooking, cut your chicken breasts into bite size

cook chicken in a separate cooking pan so the juice that comes out while chicken cooks will not moisten the rice when you add in later.
cut the rest of your veggies. Here I used mushroom and green onion and the rest of the mixed veggies I used frozen ones.

when chicken is thoroughly cooked, add it into your pan with onion and garlic.
then add all of your vegetables.

Then take your lightly beaten eggs and cook it. You can either cook in in the same pan as your veggies and try not to mix in the uncooked eggs to your veggies or you can do it in a separate pan.
Its like scrambled eggs but nothing added to the eggs. its only lightly beaten.
add rice, soy sauce and sesame oil. Now you dont need to add sesame oil if you don't like the taste or smell. Add salt and pepper.

and just mix everything together, and taste as you go.

Here's the final product. lol Blake inhaled two bowls of fried rice.

Hope you guys enjoy it! :)

Tophatter update! Benefit beauty product

So from my previous blog post about Tophatter (CLICK HERE for the post)
I mentioned that i have bid a couple of benenfit products. The first one was a pore minimizer travel size and I forgot to take a  picture but it is a very tiny tube of pore minimizer. Well, I knew benefit wasn't going to be cheap but I probably shouldn't have bid as high as I should have ( I believe i bid $10 and paid $4 for shipping).
But today I got the second benefit product that I bidded.
Fine One one Benefit cheeks and lip color!
Click here for Benefit Website: Fine One One
The price was $30 and bid started @ I believe $1. the final bid for me was $11 I believe and paid $4 shipping. So I paid $14 for this product. A little over 50% off of the product itself! This was a much better deal than the travel size pore minimizer
The product was brand new and sealed. A really good size and came in a booklet on where you can apply the product
very pretty colors

can't wait to actually use it tomorrow for my cheeks and lips!

'til next time~

May Stitch fix!!

I got my May Stitch Fix!
I have been waiting for this because my last stitch fix was so good I couldn't wait for this one. so here it is!
Real quick about how this works, you spend $20 on styling fee (you don't pay for shipping or even returns). You will have a personal stylist that will style depending on your body type and types of clothing that you wear. When you sign up, you will fill out a profile style that will reflect on how you look like and examples of styles that you may like. Also you can give them your Pinterest site on what you like in terms of fashion! I got a different stylist since a couple of fixes ago and its been great. And don't be afraid to voice what you like and what you don't like because after all, the stylists have never met you and they will style you based on your feedback. So here it is!

First shirt. 42 Hawthoprn Aspen Boat neck striped cotton Tee. I did pin a couple of striped shirt on pinterest and I was really looking for more white based than strippy. However I did like this so I decided to keep it. Blake also really liked it so that's a bonus.

Bay to Baubles milo Gem Stone Stretch Bracelet. Now, i remember telling them I don't buy jewelry from them because I have so many, plus they run on the pricier side. So I didn't keep this. Super cute though. I am thinking I can get the same thing from Charming charlies for half of the price.

Issac trying to get in my fix!

Real cute Pomelo brook Dot Print TieWaist top.
I loved it when I saw it on my styling card and out of the box. I like the vintage look. However I don't think I liked it as much when I had it on. :T This is a no.

Another really soft and cute Pomelo Aleah V-Neck solid dolman Sleeve Shirt. I love this color!! But I do have a lot of shirts in similar style and after much debate.. I let it go. :( blake said it didn't fit well on me. But I disagree :P

Last item in the box. 41Hawthorn Dita sleeveless Ponte Dress. Blake fell in love with this. I though it fitted well and I could totally wear this to a fancy date when he takes me next time :)

If you are interested in signing up Stitch fix, and really though, if you dont like anything just send them back. But I at least get one item of the box because there's always that one item that I like and you can use your $20 styling fee towards your purchase. And if you buy everything from the box it is 25% off!!

Ipsy bag & Birch box!

I got my May Ipsy bag and Birchbox almost at the same time so I am going to make it the same post.
I am honestly going to say though, I am a little disappointed in my Birchbox this month.. Here's what I got.

The only thing that I loved from this box was the Lip Lube because I've been wanting to buy this shade in forever. The shampoo and conditioner are nice but they are quite expensive.
The 32 breath mints are kind of weird lol. The instruction says to pour the whole pack into your mouth and swoosh around in saliva and use fingers to brush the particles on teeth then swallow it. That sounds just unsanitary to me :P

did get a $25 off $75 purchase at Katespade saturday. Nothing caught my eye though.

This is how the Lube tube color looks like. Very cute nude orange-y color. I really wished i used my better camera. I'll remember that next time. Iphone camera is getting worse for me very time. :/

Okay! Onto Ipsy bag!

The theme is Fresh Picks  this month.
This is a hair mask and it came in a pretty big size bottle so I am very please with that. Plus I have never tried any hair masks before so this will be interesting.
from left: purple/white duo eye shadows; SPF 15 sunscreen lotion; Calvin Klein perfume in roller style.
close up on the eye shadows. It almost looked brown in the previous picture. This is pretty.
spring water mist. It says you can spray onto face as an after makeup removal to clean your face once more or to spray onto dry areas of your body and redness. Sounds like a pretty cool water mist to me. It'll definitely come in handy this summer!
=========================
so what do y'all think? Anyone an Ipsy or Birchbox subscribers?
They are both $10 a month and I really think ipsy has better value. I am going to give Birchbox another month and if they still disappoint me then I'll probably cancel it and find another subscription.

Ciao~

Tophatters

So the past week I was on my phone on Facebook, i came across this application that they were advertising called "Tophatters". I clicked on it for more information. It was a bidding app, kind of like eBay but better. The bidding events are all live and you can get name brand beauty products, name brand purses, home stuff. Some of the stuff you could probably buy for cheaper with coupons in stores and whatnot but I thought it was fascinating.

This is an example of how it looks like when I was watching something being bid. You can click on "catalogs" to view different items.
like this
Then you select categories that you want to see and check out. it'll come up with items that you might be interested in.
Or you can click on "upcoming" to see what else will be bidded later on.

Another cool thing is, You see the little alarm clock on the top right corner of the yellow beauty blend sponge and the orange brushes? those are reminders of items that you are interested in and once it comes closer to that item being bidded, you can go back to the app. This way, you don't have to keep watching other people bidding on items that you aren't even interested in.
This is how it looks like by selecting different bidding events. Pretty cool.

I have bidding some Urban decay make up stuff and I did got one with free shipping and one with $4 shipping and both 50% off retail price. They will email you or alert you when the item is shipped along with tracking. I'll post later when I received the item and do another review on this app.

pretty cool!

Happy Nurses' Week!

Happy Nurses' Week!! Starting today 5/6/2014 through next monday! I am so excited. I can finally celebrate this week as a real RN this year! This time last year I was preparing to walk for graduation from Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff Nursing School. I cannot believe it has been a year and I have to say, it has gone by like a wind. Last year my career launched after I passed my GA state board's RN exam on 7/4 and before I even took the test I was hired by my dream job as an L/D RN. Now that i have been working for almost 10 months now, I feel better and more confident every time I work. But I still get the uneasy and nervous feeling of being afraid. I am sure most new nurses get that feeling especially in a specialty area like me.

Taking care of one patient for us is like taking care of two. You may physically be taking care of the laboring mother but you are also monitoring the baby and fetal heart rate can tell you so much! whether or not the baby is coming down the birth canal fast, or is laying on a cord, or is happy. My perceptor back when I was senior Nursing Student @ Gwinnett Medical center tagged me in a FB photo
I cracked up reading this! it is so true!!
My fellow nursing friends, how do you feel when you first started as an RN or how do you feel now?

A little nursing humor and some pertaining to L/D!
And got a little gift bag from one of shift manager nurse! so cute!
HAPPY NURSES' week! <3
==============================
Also, talking about Graduation. Yesterday we attended our good friends' graduation @ Gwinnett Arena. They graduated from Gwinnett Technical College!! We are so proud of them for graduating and graduating honors!
Here are some pictures! and my outfit!

Hair and make up!

Congratulations to Doug!

Had to do an asian pose!
congratulations to Rico!
