Ulta and e.l.f haul!!

Finally have time to update my blog!
I've been in class to get my ACLS certification for two days this week and then I worked last night, so here I am!
So from the last post about ebates I actually bought these items using the ebates website and got me some money back. I would recommend buying and using free shipping option if its available to save more money! But here we go!
 First! MY E.L.F bag!!

Sorry for the blurry picture. But Here's the make up brush shampoo that I've been using for a few years now. I never learned to wash my brushes until maybe like 4 years ago. The thought of my brushes not working well and not picking up colors and products saddens me. So I found this cheap shampoo which works really well. I don't think i'll go and buy a $30 brush shampoo at all. This is a great option.

My new brushes!! I wanted a stipple brush for a while now and I am glad that I finally got one. And if you haven't shopped at e.l.f. you should! they have really affordable make up products and brushes for those who doesn't want to spend a lot. (like me). i am not picky on brushes as long as they serve the purpose.

To my ULTA hault!! So I've been watching a lot of makeup gurus on youtube.com on these NYX blushes and they are cheap $4.99 each. So I decided to give them a try. Also ULTA always have the $3.50 off $10 purchase coupon, so that's what I used as well.
here are the colors that I got.

This color is called Apricot. I wanted this for the summer and possible for fall. Its a subtle orange color with a little glitter to it.
I  used this today and I loved it!
I didn't use too much because it was only for a date night. I liked it.

This color is called Pinched. Really pretty and pinkish glitter in it. I think this will look really natural on my cheeks

This color I believe is called Mocha. This is clearly a matte blush and it is what I wanted. I have those lip/cheek stain that are matte color but until i get to know how to use them properly, I am going to use my powder blushes!

This is how they look like on my arm! Top is Mocha, then middle is Pinched, the last one is Apricot.

Next I got NYX mineral "Set it & Don't Fret it" Matte finishing powder.
My Makeup Forever powder is almost gone and because I am trying to save money I decided to do some research on similar products. Even though my Makeup forever powder is pressed, I feel like this does the job well.

and I also used the powder for tonight as well. I only used my regular face moisturizer, concealer, and light cc cream then I used the powder. It looks really natural and i am glad the color matches! (One thing about shopping online)

and here are some samples that I got from purchasing at ulta!!

happy shopping!

July Ipsy and Birchbox!

Blog update! yay! So this month I got my Ipsy bag and Birchbox at the same time. Funny thing is I cancelled my Birchbox for this month but they sent one to me saying that I had enough points for a free box. Weird thing is... I never purchased any products. But no complains! :P

Ipsy Bag!
Model's Own nail polish- I dont think I like the color at all. It kind of looks like hot sauce lol. I may or may not try it. But it is a full size item so that's a win!

Marrakesh Ends-Argan & Hemp oil therapy- This is pretty cool. it says you can use it on dry or wet hair and rub it onto the ends of your hair. I should try this next time I wash my hair. I have some split ends but good thing they are mostly gone now. I am always up for a hair product!

Pure color- 5 in one BB cream=- It says it matches all these tones. BB cream is awesome but it depends on the brand. It doesn't provide that much coverage but I am willing to try it. Since I am so tanned now, I want to see if it'll still match my skin color! This will be another blog post.

Pur-lissed daily broad spectrum lotion sunscreen. I have gotten this product in every single Birchbox..and now I am getting it from Ipsy too. Not that I don't like the product, but I do want to try different things. On the up side, it is a travel size instead of the mini trial size that BirchBox gives.

Tints & Sass- tinted lip stain and blush. I tried this last night going to work. I had to dab some out because it was red. But I really like this almost more than the one from Benefit. The color is bright so if I want to try as blush it'll have to be built up slwoly.

Real chemistry Facial peel- I think the only peel I've gotten is the ones I got from Walmart so I am excited to try this!

Imperial Gardenia- This perfume smells sooo goood!!! Its soft and floral and just overall a very pleasant smell. (i really don't know how to describe a smell, especially for perfume).

Naobay-Body radiance Lotion- Another lotion that I get from Birchbox.. this lotion does NOT smell good at all. And the lotion itself is just okay. Kind of disappointed.

CC Cream- I think this is another one of the sunscreen lotion thing for your face. Again, another product that I've gotten before.

Cynthia rowlly black eye liner: I like the eyeliners that Birchbox has sent me so far, and I have so many black eyeliners now I don't think i'll ever need to go buy another one! lol

So that's it! that's what I got from my Ipsy bag and birchbox! What did you all get??

Oh and I was watching this Youtube video on this girl who does like makeup and hair and stuff. I love NYX and I've been hearing and seeing a lot about NYX lose pigmented eyeshadows. Her video is good for that.

threading!

Have you gone eye brow threading before? Or do you just plug them or wax them?
see, I've always wondered how it feels like to have eye brows threaded and finally, at the beginning of last year I went with my best friend, who gets her eye brows threaded, to get them done. Not to sound typical, but Indian women do them at their salons and they are cheap! I think the first place I went was like $7 but they raised their price to $8. Then we found another place that's new and only charges $6!! what a deal.

Honestly, I think threading keeps the hair gone longer but I do have to say, they Really Really hurt!! Everything they do it my eyes start to get watery (sensitive around your eye area) and they just hurt!! but so worth it!!

Blake tells me I don't need to get my eyebrows done, but he is a man. Men don't really see what you see when your hair starts to grow back and the shape is gone!
So I took before and after photos for him to see..

Realized these pictures look kind of creepy. but there are BEFORE pictures. If you click on them, you can see the hair around the eyebrows that are back and shape is slightly off..

and TADA!! After picture!! they look so much better and I feel much better lol!!

Then applied some make up in the car.

Got to use the shimmer green eyeliner from my June Ipsy Bag
I like it a lot..but when I removed my make up last night I noticed the green eyeshadow was still tinted on my eyelids..took a second to take them off completely.

Anyways, eye brow threading is awesome!!

June Birchbox!

JUNE birchbox is here!! Even though I am thinking about cancelling the subscription, I am still excited to receive it.

As usual, cute boxing and a little card on what's included in the box and the full price for when you want to purchase the full size item.

Honestly, I think I am happy with most of the items in the box other than the coola sunscreen. I have about 3 of them now because they come in every box.. I feel like they could take that out of my box and send me something different.
So here in the pictures I have
Perlier-Body Cream Shea Almond
This is a nice lotion to have. It smells wonderful and its on the heavier side so it stays moisturized for me because I have dry skin.

Suki Exfoliate Foaming cleanser
this is a small sample but I think it'll last me at least 3 washes. I have never heard of this particular brand but I have tried face exfoliating cleanser before. I love exfoliating my face every once in a while since I wear makeup almost everyday, its a nice way to really clean out the pores.

Coastal Scents Revealed Palette in Sunset. (Below is the picture of the sample palette). Very pretty colors and neutral. I think I'll like this.

Folle De joi parfum
I haven't tried this yet but it smells pretty nice.

Last but not least, they included this traveling survey on which city you should go to and I got San Francisco, CA!! Last time I went to CA with one of my best friends was 2 years ago and it was my first time going there. She is from Anaheim, CA and we stayed there. it was so much fun and we walked to Disneyland, which only took about 30 minutes.
So once you take the survey and take a picture of either this or your Birchbox and tag #jetBlue or #birchbox you can win a free trip to that city! I never win anything so I thought I might give it a try any way lol

Do you have Birchbox subscription? What did you get??

Out and about

I didn't do much today. I got what I wanted yesterday. It was about 0605 and I got a call from work. Charge nurse said that she got all patients delivered and I can be on-call! I was beyond excited. I was super tired and was yawning from the second I woke up (mind you I slept from 8am to 4:30 pm). So I stayed home. Ate leftover chinese that I bought for the unit the night before while Blake got his pizza lol. We watched Game of Thrones until I was literally in and out of consciousness lol :P

Anyways, we went to bed around 11:30pm and I slept until 7:30am. Guess I really need that sleep.
so I decided to blog about make up today. from the previous two post (HERE) I wrote about what I purchased from Ulta that were new to me.
The Revelon 24 hour cream foundation. And i used the make up application sponge blender to apply that. I have to say, I have found my new favorite foundation. I have been using it everyday since the day I purchased it. It provides almost full coverage (I only say almost full coverage because I have really bad dark circles underneath my eyes). I have purchased other foundations but they felt too heavy on my face and this does not make me feel like that.

So I apply my foundation with my new sponge blender and then I apply my NYX concealer.

yea I wasn't going to post pictures of my face without make up. lol But here's with all the base-face products applied. Really nice coverage.

Then I filled my brow my the NYX auto eyebrow pencil. I got this in charcoal (or gray?) and in dark brown..sometimes I feel like i look better in brown eyebrows lol. Then I set my brows with the clear brow gel from Ulta. I like nice defined yet natural looking brows.

Onto my eye shadows...
Always remember to prime your eyes first. i used Benefit's eye primer. Its a sample size that i got with my Naked 1 palette. I loved it so far so when its gone i'll go buy the full size product.

So for my base color I used the color virgin and Naked. The Virgin color is a champagne/ivory color that I like and Naked is a good matte base color to use for a day time look.

I mixed these two colors together and just applied all over my lids.

Then I used the color Smog on the outer corner of my lids. Apply is like a "V" shape. I also used the color Darkhorse to darken it a little bit and run the eyeshadow underneath my bottom lashes. Gives that great daytime smoky eye look. If you want more than the brown tone, use the black eye shadow you see on the right side and just deepen that "V" shape.

Then I just used the color Half baked on the inner corner of my eyes to give them the pop :)

Then I used my Kate Von B Tattoo liner  and Kohl eye pencil as my eyeliners. I used very thin line for my liquid liner and created a small cat eye. Then I used the pencil liner to line the upper waterline to fill in any spaces.

To finish with the whole look, I used my Power Volume 24 hr water proof mascara and Maybelline Falsies. I love these two combined together. They make my eyelashes look so long and thick!

Then I finished off my face with Cargo bronzer, benefit blush/lip color stain  as my blush, and Benefit highlighter. (they are sample sizes that I got from Sephora and Ipsy bag).

THE FINAL Look!
Without flash.

With flash, you can see my eyeshadow colors more.

hope y'all like it! :D

Hands like Houses concert & ulta haul!

I haven't updated my blog in a lonnnnggg time! I worked 4 nights this past week and I just finished my last night shift of the week. I am just so tired! Not only did we have some crazy deliveries on Wednesday night but last night was just crazy too. It started off slow but then patients just came in. It was more steady than crazy, nothing could be compared to wednesday night lol!

Anyways! So Blake and I went to Atlanta Masquerade to see a band that we both liked called Hands Like Houses. They are similar to Linkin Park and etc. kinda like those alternative rock style?
I have to say.. the group of guys that were there and were next to us were crazy. They were pushing each other around and running.. I mean I wanted to enjoy the concert. I get it some other bands were emo and rock and stuff... but think about others that are around you.. you could really hurt somebody! ALSO! Body surfing.. woo boy, was that crazy. A girl tried to do it and of course the crowd wasn't paying attention *bad timing* and she just dropped on the floor. o.O yup. Can't do those things lol..

Anyways that was a fun night other than being hot and sweaty :P

So I went to Ulta, I was out of my favorite mascara
This! I love this mascara. Second mascara that I like would probably be the Falsies from Maybelline
Another thing I got is this complexion sponge. I have heard a lot about this other brand with the sponge blender that costs a lot of money. This Studio Basics Expert Complexion Sponge is only $4.99 from Ulta! Thought I'd give it a try. so far, I LOVE IT!! absolutely love it. You know what I use it with?

Revelon's whipped cream foundation! I have to say.. It blends so nicely, not just the sponge but the foundation as well. I love this new foundation.
i am in the process of finding one that I love with almost full coverage because my Chanel one is almost done. I think I may just have found it :)
Then I just got some NYX HD concealer and Ulta brow clear gel. I Have never tried NYX HD concealer before and I wasn't sure which color I wanted or worked the best so I just got both. They look almost the same in the picture but one is a slightly darker color. They both blend really well and cover up my dark circles really well, but I think the darker color works if i apply it first then apply the lighter color. As in like correcting color with the darker (peachy color). :)

So this is it. I am going to take a power nap and to meet up with my brother and his gf for brunch then Blake and I have an appointment with our Real Estate agent to go see more houses!! :D
hope y'all had a nice weekend!

Tophatter update! Benefit beauty product

So from my previous blog post about Tophatter (CLICK HERE for the post)
I mentioned that i have bid a couple of benenfit products. The first one was a pore minimizer travel size and I forgot to take a  picture but it is a very tiny tube of pore minimizer. Well, I knew benefit wasn't going to be cheap but I probably shouldn't have bid as high as I should have ( I believe i bid $10 and paid $4 for shipping).
But today I got the second benefit product that I bidded.
Fine One one Benefit cheeks and lip color!
Click here for Benefit Website: Fine One One
The price was $30 and bid started @ I believe $1. the final bid for me was $11 I believe and paid $4 shipping. So I paid $14 for this product. A little over 50% off of the product itself! This was a much better deal than the travel size pore minimizer
The product was brand new and sealed. A really good size and came in a booklet on where you can apply the product
very pretty colors

can't wait to actually use it tomorrow for my cheeks and lips!

'til next time~
