October Ipsy

Ipsy bag is here!! I cannot believe its October already!!
The bag this month is cute. The dark aqua/ turquoise color is good for fall!
From left to right.
  • Jesse's Girl Mineralized baked eye shadow. This eye shadow is pretty big and looks like a full size. However, I don't really wear colors that bright or bold..But I will play with it and see if i can make something out of it.
  • H20+ Face Oasis hydration cream. Like I said before, can't hurt to have more face moisturizer as I will never have to run out and buy more!
  • Starlooks lip gloss. (top) This color is called Guilty Pleasure and its a nice nude-pink pigmented color. I don't like lip gloss because its sticky (but i loved it back in Middle school. i mean, who didn't? :P). But i think I can work with this one.
  • Ayres Body Butter. yay more lotion/butter!
  • Skyn iceland Mini glacial facial cleansing clothes. I have a whole box of make up remover clothes (a box that I got from Costco, so its like 500 wipes) but i will give this a go too.

Overall, I would like it more if i could've gotten the eyeshadow in another color. I watched some other youtube vlogger and she got a nice purple/pink color.

Calligraphy for Beginners!

So I came across this website called Darby smart (click on link to check out this website. Its a website for you to order anything that you want to D.I.Y. I was browsing and I came across this Calligraphy kit for $19.99. However, I signed up for their e-mail so I got 10$ off, so I only paid $9.99 and free shipping. i was like, why not, I love calligraphy so I could learn it and write my invitations with my new skill :P
got here about 3 days! super fasT

here's what came in the box, ink, nib cleaner, and silver ink for writing on color papers, pen and different nibs and a booklet teaching basic fonts.

so last night I started practicing. honestly, it sucked. It was weird getting used to having to slow down my writing and dip into the ink and then learning the strokes.

then this is playing with different nib and writing in old english. i think it looked ok for a beginner. Obviously calligraphy doesn't come instant.

However, it peaked my interest and I started researching on calligraphy and such. I started reading blogs and whatnot and today I went to Hobby Lobby (because I didn't want to order another kit of nibs online) and got me some different nibs. After standing at the aisle for a good 20 minutes reading reviews I picked a pack for thin nibs (sketch nibs?) for like $3.
and more practice. these nibs  are the ones I wanted. They write like the modern calligraphy that I was looking for, and again, I need more practice but they look much better already!!
can't wait to use this for invitations and such.

Fall!!

I know I have said this before, but Autumn is seriously my favorite season!! I cannot wait to get married next year in Fall!!
Anyways, for the past week I have been pretty chill. The hospital that I work at is doing this move more challenge. There were only certain amount of people that can sign up for this and you can get a free Fit Bit. Of course, I signed up and plus I wanted to start picking up my jogging/running; it has been over a year now. The Fit Bit really is a pedometer. but if you workout, or run for example, it will say how long or how active you were and how much calories you burn. Now I dont think i sync the calories right but i care more about how many steps that i do a day than calories!

Anyhow, that's what I've been doing.
Our house finally is getting the frames done!! we went by yesterday and it was awesome to be able to walk through some part and today our real estate agent went by and checked it out herself!!

a little dark, yes it eventually rained but they got a lot done!! so excited!! 2 more months and we will be able to move in! :D

So Today, I woke up with a really bad headache so I rested and did not go run. But I did decide to make a fall wreath! I got some ideas from pinterest but here it is
Here's all the supply. I got 40% off non-sale items at both Hobby Lobby and Michael's
Isaac smelling and attempted to eat my wreath.

So here I painted the initial H in black. really, I should've chose a more vibrant color but it kinda blended in. I might go buy another H and another color of paint tomorrow and redo that..
Although my last name isn't H (my fiance's is), I figured this wreath will last for a while and we are getting married soon... hope i am not jumping the gun here :P

So I just placed the fall decorations where I like and they actually stick in between pretty well but I hot glued them just in case.

the final product!
the bow was super hard to make and I will have to readjust it. Other than that I thought it was cute.
Excuse my Christmas wreath hook lol I forgot to buy one while out shopping for supplies so that will have to do for now lol

Brides Against Breast Cancer

So this past weekend my MOH, Alex, and I went to the Westin hotel in buckhead Atlanta for a bride events called "Brides Against Breast Cancer". I paid for the VIP ticket which is an 4 hour event for brides to try and maybe buy bridal gowns that are used or discounted new dresses. I got super excited when I bought the ticket 3 weeks ago and was looking forward to the event. It would've been my first time trying bridal gown on.

Honestly,... I was disappointed as soon as I got there. there was maybe 6 racks of wedding dresses and the room was small. I began to look at the dresses with alex and one of the volunteers, they only had 1 rack with my size, but truly, there was only 3 dresses that were my size. Not only that.. the dresses were mostly dirty or something's wrong or zippers are broken. Then the prices weren't even that good. I was looking for a lace dress and they had none.

Reason why I wasn't too happy about being there is because I had high expectations. I googled and researched the event. Here's some pictures that I found..

needless to say, it wasn't like this at all. I did try on a few gowns ..which I wasn't fond of anyway.
However, I do have to say trying on gowns made me actually want to start making appointments to bridal salons and try on gowns that I envision.

September Ipsy!

I have to say, I like this bag a lot better than last month's. Last month was just fail lol.
A little about Ipsy.
Michelle Phan is the founder of Ipsy. It is a monthly subscription makeup/skincare/hair bag that only costs you $10. You will have to take a quiz on what you like and what you prefer then they will send out bags every month based on that. Although I do think sometimes the bags are just random.
Anyways, Sometimes you will get full sized item and most of the time its premium travel size item.
If you are interested, click here---> IPSY
First, Hikari lipstick!
This color is darker than in the picture.

Darker red lipsticks look better on me so this is a win.

this is a face toner serum and moisturizer, which is another win for me because my face cannot use enough of these!!

deep conditioning mask for hair!
I love getting theses things but I usually either forget to use them in the shower or i get lazy lol. I will definitely give this a try though.

These items are exciting. The brushes are both sided. One of crease blending and the other side is a smaller blending brush! I needed a new brush and this is awesome!
and then the eyeliner is BROWN!! its so funny because the other day I was just thinking that I need brown eyeliner because mine was running low! very cool!

So what did YOU get on you ipsy bag??

Baby Isaac

So this whole week has been kind of crazy. The week started off with me waking up hearing Isaac the cat meowing all morning, then I woke up and went to the bathroom and saw that he threw up. I looked at him and he looked at his own throw up and looked at me. I cleaned up and petted him. Then I started hearing him gagging. Then he threw up again, this time is just water and yellow fluids. I texted Blake and we realized that this is not like him. Isaac is a quiet cat usually. He has never meowed continuously.
I took him to the vet and found out he has an urethral obstruction.  Of course, me in the medical field knew what that meant. However, I did still ask the Doctor what it meant. Its hard when its an animal because you can't communicate. The doctor said that he needs to be stabilized because his bladder was 3 times his normal size and he is in a lot of pain.
Blake and I told the doctor to do whatever she could. Isaac got an IV, urinary catheter to help break the blockage and drain his bladder. Because this first vet we went to wasn't a full serviced hospital, we drove down the street from them to get Isaac hospitalized.
He stayed for 3 days..

first time in a long time since he's been to a vet. isaac is only 3 years old.

in this little carrier on the way to the hospital. by this time he has this collar on to prevent chewing on his catheter.

his IV.

after 3 days we finally picked him up late afternoon yesterday. The vet said he did good but he didn't really eat while he's stayed in the hospital, which I can understand; he didn't know where he was and he was in pain.
But as soon as he got him, he went to the litter box (which we are supposed to watch him to see if he pees or just straining) and he has to be on the c/d cat food for urinary tract health diet for a long time now (possibly life time). We gave him the wet kind and he ate right away. we are just glad that he went back to his old self as soon as we got home.

licking himself which is common after urinary catheter.
you can see where he got shaved for his IV

I had to take him back to the Vet this morning for a quick check up on the bladder because when we picked him up last night he was leaking a little bit. but he is all good and check up is next Friday :D

sunday funday

Gun range!! Since I had to work saturday I took a quick nap so I can wake up and hang out with Blake. We wanted to go to this new gun range in Johns Creek, which literally just opened and looks really nice.

we only shot his 9mm

our target.

aaaannnd He goes first lol.
Its been a over a year since I shot his hand gun so I was a little hesitant. But once I get used to it, I remembered what it was like. Hate to say this, but I am a better shot lol :P

we shared our target but I got mostly red and you can see that we shot towards the right side. Blake said its because we are right handed and we just need more practice.

pretty cool. But I have to say, gun range is super expensive. Mainly because the ammunition i think, they were $20 a box.
So what did you do this past weekend? anything fun?

Stitch fix

Its that time of the month again!!! My stitch fix is here.
you know, every time I open and try on everything and I would be like, this is a pretty good fix, then I would go see on other bloggers' stitch fix and I'll be like, "how come I didn't get that pretty chevon dress? How come she got the cute print top and I didn't?" and I noticed that my stylist would be different..hmm okay.
Anyways, here are the pictures and help me pick!

This is Sioban Striped french Terry 3/4 sleeve Dress from Tart
I feel ok in this dress. the 3/4 sleeve made my arms looks shorter than they already are and I like fitted dresses most of the time...this is $88

Top: Latisha Embellished bib Sleeveless Blous from Fun2Fun.
This black shirt is cute but i almost wished that this one in my last box if you remember the black sleeveless blouse that I got that's similar to this. i like this but I've gotten so many Black shirts from Stitch fix i just don't know if I want another one.
this is $48.

Pants: VinnyAnkle Length colored Skinny Jean from Liverpool. This is a cute, mid-high rise jeans. This bright red color is super cute but the calf/ankle part is loose and I thought it would be tighter. Maybe that's how its supposed to fit, I don't know. It doesn't look too bad, right? I am not used to wear mid-rise jeans but they are pretty comfy and fit like a glove from the waist to thigh area.
this is $44.

last outfit that I put together from the box.
Scarf: Gweneth Chevron Lace Infinity Scarf  from Octavia.
This scarf is cute. Lacy and definitely fall like.
this is $28

top: Bixby Bird print tab Sleeve Blous from Pixley. The top felt really nice and its a silky material. Really cute and blous-y lol. I get a lot of blouse from stitch fix and I feel like its probably just their style or that's the fashion nowadays. this top is $48.

alright. What do you guys like?
